Emotional Quotient
Alright. A serious post before a serious maths tutor. Where i have no friends. Yay me. And again, 90% of the class doing 4u maths. Dang i feel so stupid. But moving along. Theres IQ which is obviously intelligence quotient which states how intelligent you are. And my dad has been introducing the concept of EQ which is the emotional part. Thing is, having a high IQ doesnt guarantee a happy life while a high EQ has a much higher chance at that.

So a high EQ is something along the lines of being friendly, knowing what to say and act at the right time and etcetera. Couples with a high EQ dont hold grudges, laugh or disregard things quite a bit depending on the severity and accept an apology wholeheartedly. My dad thinks that it will increase the success of relationships and the popularity, no, how much the person is liked. Popularity and being liked by many is different. You can know that you're renowned, but may not be respected. While being liked is just the people who you know hold you in respect, not necessarily high. In other words, my interpretation of EQ is no more than the art of manipulation. Why? Because to be able to read someone's feelings and respond in a way to make them feel better, requires skill. To read their voice, their body language, even to try to predict their next words, that falls into manipulation.

Now, manipulation is a derogatory term, but is there really a term that describes the act of manipulation for someone else's benefit? Yeah there probably is but i cbf finding it. This EQ is just manipulation but with holding the influencing them to do your desire part. You get them to trust you and get on your side, then you leave it at that. You have the occassional chat and all and there. The success rate depends on your EQ and thus your skill at manipulation. Unfortunately, there is no way of calculating one's EQ yet. Now that i think about it, to get people on your side will make you successful in life. To push and pull the correct emotions, to know that people support you and will help you, it's all in the first steps of manipulation. Mind you, it isnt complete manipulation until they do your bidding.

Personally, i'm not fond of manipulation. Yet again, some people want to be manipulated. As weird as that sounds, it's completely true. You may be a genius, but with no friends, you're nothing. Psychology probably delves deep into this EQ business, but im not really interested in psychology. Ive decided what course i would like to take. Screw the good curry at unsw, il take my place at usyd. An advanced science degree 95 or a medical science degree 93 (a tad less). I have found my motivation. My cousin however is fond of psychology which is a 97 there, and his subjects are excellent. Once that EQ test comes out, let's take the test. Oh shit there's freaking umat for the medical science i think.
